MEININGER Publishing has been in business since 1903 and works towards the objective of providing genuine wine quality and correcting any deficiencies. Consequently, employees involved in the wine testing are trained in the fundamentals of oenology. Over 7,000 wines are assessed annually using blind tasting techniques for MEININGER’s magazines alone, and almost as many are assessed for the great international wine award, MUNDUS VINI.

Our experts not only look for flawless sensory impressions, but also look behind the scenes to ensure that everything is in order. First, we check production on site in a thoroughly professional manner. Secondly, we analyse the wine to ensure that statutory requirements are met.
More Objectivity
We judge all wines in a blind tasting test – without knowing either the producer or the price. Moreover it is not the subjective impression of a single professional that decides, but rather the objective judgements of a panel comprising several experts. Discerning the typical characteristics of wines from different regions requires thorough specialist knowledge and as a result, we only use tasters with international experience.
